On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, which was celebrated on September 7, this year, the devotees welcome Lord Ganesha into their homes by installing his idol and worshipping him with proper rituals. Then, they immerse Lord Ganesha’s idol in holy water after one and a half, three, five, or 10 days, as per their preferences. If you are planning to celebrate Ganesh Visarjan after five days, i.e., tomorrow, September 11, 2024, or after 10 days, i.e., on September 17, 2024, learn about the date and Shubh Muhurat from astrologer and Vastu expert Rajeev Aacharya, International Sanatan Dharma Parishad Trust Ujjain.
Rajeev Aacharya Tells The Significance Of Worshipping Lord Ganesha
Astrologer Rajeev said that Lord Ganesh is believed to be the god of knowledge, wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. He is also known as Vinayak and Vidhnaharta because he is the destroyer of obstacles. “According to mythological beliefs, Ganeshji has a high place among all the gods and goddesses which is one of the reasons that Ganeshji is worshipped first in every puja,” said Aacharya Ji.
Rajeev Aacharya mentioned, “It is also believed that Ganesha travels around the world for 10 days every year which is why he is brought home and immersed on the 10th day by the devotees. This festival starts on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhado month and is celebrated till the Chaturdashi date of Shukla Paksha. It is also called Anant Chaturdashi. On this day, Ganapati ji is immersed symbolically.”
