    The whole month of Sawan or Shravan is dedicated to lord Shiva. Since there are 12 lord Shiva jyotirlingas, here is the list of the six most visited jyotirlingas during Sawan.

Somnath Jyotirlinga

    This is one of the most significant Jyotirlingas located in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. This is the first among 12 jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva.

Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga

    Mallikarjuna is one of the 12 jyotirlingas located at Srisailam in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The temple has several sculptures on its walls that appear as a gallery.

Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga

    Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is said to be the most sacred adobe of lord Shiva and is located in the ancient city of Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh. This temple is situated on the side of the holy river Shipra.

    Rameshwaram temple is located at Rameshwaram district in the state of Tamil Nadu. This temple has the longest corridors among all the temples in India, it is also one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites.

    This temple is the holiest place for the Hindus. Kedarnath temple is located on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river in the state of Uttarakhand. Due to extreme weather conditions, this temple is open to the general public in April and November.
