What is Sindur Khela?
Sindur Khela or Sindur Utsav literally mean vermillion game. It is the most significant ritual, which is performed on Vijaydashmi.
History and significance
The exact origin of the festival is unknown. But, according to folklore, this tradition began around 200 years ago the Durga Pujas of the zamindar houses.
Why only Married women can participate?
This ritual is only performed by married women as it is believed that if they do this ritual with proper custom, they will never get widowed.
