This year, Ashtami and Navami will be observed on the same day, i.e. on Friday, October 11, 2024. This rare alignment occurs due to the overlapping of the lunar calendar. The Ashtami will begin on October 10, 2024, at 12:31 pm and will end at 12:06 pm, October 11, 2024. Maha Navami will begin on October 11, 2024, at 12:06 pm and will end at 10:58 pm, on October 12, 2024.

Significance Of Maha Ashtami 2024
Maha Astami is considered one of the most auspicious days of Navratri festival. It is believed that on this day Goddess Durga defeated the demon Mahishasura. On this day, people offer prayers to Goddess Durga in her most powerful form, often known as Mahishasuramardini.
Significance Of Maha Navami 2024
Maha Navami is the last day of Navratri. It celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga and her continued presence among her devotees before she prepares for her departure on a Vijayadashami. On this occasion, people participate in Maha Aarti, to seek blessings from Maa Durga.

Kanya Pujan Date And Rituals 2024
Kanya Pujan is scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2024. If you are planning to conduct Kanya Pujan at your home, here are the rituals you should follow:
- Start with washing their feet with water. Then make them sit on a clean seat.
- After this, prepare a plate of satvik food like kheer, puri, gram, halwa etc. Now keep the plate in the court of Goddess Durga and offer it.
- After this, apply Tika to all the girls and tie Raksha Sutra on their wrists.
- Feed the satvik food to the girls and then offer them fruits and gifts.
- Lastly, take their blessings.
