The festival of Lohri is celebrated on the day before Makar Sankranti every year, as per the Hindu calendar. This time, we will celebrate Lohri on January 13, 2025, before the Sun’s transition into Capricorn begins at 8:44 am on January 14, 2025, which is when we will celebrate Makar Sankranti.
Lohri 2025 Auspicious Timing For Puja
Astrologer Tripathi said, “According to the Vedic calendar, Bhadravas and Raviyog are being formed on the day of Lohri this year. The Bhadravas yoga will remain till 4:26 pm. It is believed that Agnidev should be worshipped properly during this yoga. Not only this, Adra and Punarvasu nakshatras are also being formed on this day.

Lohri Festival Significance
There is a tradition to worship Agni Dev on the day of Lohri as it is said to bring you his protection, peace, and happiness. The devotees celebrate this festival to welcome new crops. “The devotees pray for good crops by offering grains of the new crop to the fire. The fire of Lohri is considered a symbol of protection from evil eyes. People circle around the fire and ask for their wishes. On the day of Hadi, people pray for happiness and prosperity. God is pleased by putting ghee, sesame, jaggery, etc., in the fire,” said the astrologer.
